Are you ready to fly away?

Just a little faith filled message to encourage you.  Nothing teaches us more about life , than death.  When confronted with the brevity of our own lives we should hasten to examine our lives and search for and eliminate, the things that waste our time.

Watch out for time stealers like these:

  • Whining and whinging.
  • Arguing and fighting.
  • Lying or cheating.
  • Laziness.
  • Selfishness.
  • Being offended
These time stealers will steal the time you could be spending doing something kind or something good with someone you love.  Our lives are but a fleeting moment, a mist, a vapor.  A flower in the field that springs up in the morning and is gone the next.  Psalm 90 verse 10 in the Bible tells us that the days of our lives are 70 years, yet their boast is only labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away. These aren’t words that we want to hear because none of us really wants to get old, we all want to be forever young.  But the Bible reminds us that these days, weeks, months and years will pass quickly and we will “fly away”.

On Wednesday I heard the news that the Great evangelist Billy Graham had “flown away“.  What a great man who dedicated his life to preaching the truth from the Bible and leading people out of captivity and into eternal life. What a great man who has changed the lives of millions and millions of people. This leaves us with 3 questions?

  1. Am I ready to “fly away”?
  2. Have I made the decision to give my life to God and trust Jesus as my lord and my savior?
  3. Will I choose to live my life for others instead of for myself?

The irony is that to win the battle of life we actually have to surrender to God and enter into a relationship with the creator of the universe and trust Him and be obedient to His Word.  If you haven’t done this yet then today is your day to make things right between you and God and then you’ll know where you’re going when it’s time to “fly away“.

God bless you heaps

Pastor Nigel
