Changing Seasons

What season are you in right now? It is a natural part of life that we go through seasons!  Which one are you in at the moment? Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn?

The story is told of a wise man who wanted to teach his four sons about being patient during different seasons.  He sent his sons to go and look at the pear tree in the back paddock.  The first son went in winter, the second went in spring, the third went in summer and .he fourth went in Autumn.  The first son came back to his father saying that the tree was ugly , bent and twisted.  The second son said no, the tree was covered in green buds and was full of promise.  The third son disagreed and said it was laden with blossoms that smelled sweet and looked beautiful.  The fourth son said he saw something different, he saw the tree with an abundance of ripe fruit on it and it was full of life!  The sons argued about the tree and who was right.  The father quietly told them that they were “all” right.

Each son had seen only one season of the tree’s life and you cannot judge the tree or a person or God by only one season.  Life is full of seasons and you can’t judge your life by one season. If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer  and the blessing of your autumn.

Don’t let one difficult season in your life destroy the joy of  the rest of your life.  Truth is, seasons change!  It’s how you see the season that you’re in right now that determines how the other seasons pan out.  If you’re in a difficult season right now then trust God with the outcome and obey His word in the Bible in order to navigate you through this season. Pain has the ability to cause us to “twist” or “trust”, the choice is yours.  Trees that stay twisted never produce good fruit!  Just ask God today, in what area of my life do you want me to grow as I go through this season?  When we don’t understand what God is doing it’s a good time to trust that God knows what He’s doing.

God bless you heaps
