How much can you handle?

How much can you handle?

  • How much work
  • How much trouble
  • How much money
  • How many relationships
  • How many responsibilities
  • How many kids
  • How many commitments
  • How many promises
  • How many priorities
  • And .. How much stress
The story is told of two men going fishing.  They were both doing well, pulling in fish after fish.  While one man’s esky was getting full, the other man’s was only half full.  Why?  One of the men had brought a stick with him and he used it to measure his fish.  If the fish was bigger than his stick, he threw it back into the sea.  Wouldn’t you want to keep the big fish?   The other man was perplexed and said,
“What are you doing with that stick and why are you throwing the big fish back into the water?”
The man with the stick said, “It’s my measuring stick.  If the fish is bigger than my stick it won’t fit in my frying pan.”

The man with the stick had set limits in his mind as to how big a fish he could take home.  He did not have the capacity to handle a bigger fish.  He only had a small frying pan.  Sometimes our thinking puts a ceiling on our destiny.  Sometimes we need to think bigger and throw our measuring stick away!  All things are possible with God!  I don’t know what situation you’re facing today but I want to encourage you to start believing God for the impossible!  There is a scripture in the Bible in the book of Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20 and it says this…

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or even think according to his power that works in us.

Amen. There is a power inside the believer that smashes the gates of hell!  This power is the same power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead!  There is a power inside of the believer that expects miracles!  His power is the power that takes you forward!

This power is what gives you the strength to face every challenge!  This power is your lifeline to the blessing!  This power causes you to shift from being a victim to being a victor!  This power makes us strong when we are weak!  This power enables us to expand our capacity to handle whatever comes our way!  His power is what says to you, ”Throw your stick away! And get a bigger frying pan!”

God bless you heaps
