Why So Cranky?

HELLO FRIDAYS FAITH MESSAGE.  Just a little encouragement for you today. What is it with cranky people?  Maybe you’ve seen one?  Maybe you’ve been one?

There are many reasons we offer up as excuses:

  • But ooh I’m so stressed
  • Ooh I have so much work to do
  • Ooh I not feeling well
  • Ooh I have no money
  • Ooh the kids are stressing me out
  • Ooh my husband is an idiot
  • Ooh my wife spends all our money
  • Ooh you don’t know what that person did to me
  • Ooh my dog chewed my phone
  • Ooh I’m so tired
  • Ooh my cat died

There’s so many excuses we can use as a license to be cranky.  But really, if you are alive today and have breath in your lungs and food on your table, then today is a good day!  Let’s look for reasons to be thankful instead of reasons to be cranky.  Troubles and trials are going to come, none of us are exempt.  It’s how we respond to the trouble that determines what sort of person we will be.

The people I respect and admire are those who go through the most tragic and challenging circumstances and they still maintain their composure and they keep  their peace and they hold onto their faith, trusting God for a good outcome.

These people go through lots of pain but they still have time to be kind to you and to love you and care about you.  Jesus said this to us:

These things I have spoken to you, that “in me” you may have peace, in this world you will have trouble but be of good cheer,  for I have overcome the world (John 16:33)

Maybe this selfish self centered world could take some notice of what Jesus said. Isn’t it true that this world would be a better place to live if we found our peace in Jesus Christ and we lived by the teachings of the son of God?  Why not make the switch today and thank God for what you do have instead of being cranky about what you don’t have.

God bless you heaps
